Ever had that awesome feeling of finding money in a pocket that you'd forgotten about? According to Money Supermarket, discovering a £20 note in your pocket is top of the list of life's 'little wins'. As part of the campaign, they've been running a blogger challenge to find out how some of us would spend the money.
I work in an office, and those who do the same will know that even if you really enjoy your job like I do, it can sometimes be a bit tough doing the daily grind. I decided to make my £20 last a week, picking up a different treat every lunchtime to brighten up the working day a little!
Mug, Paperchase, £6
I'm pretty sure everyone in the office drinks more tea on Monday than any other day of the week! To beat the Monday blues, I picked up this cute as anything mug to fight off the Monday blues. I'm also gonna use the box to store some desk bits and pieces in I think, because it's adorable!
Company Magazine, £2.50
My Tuesday treat was picking up my favourite magazine to read in my lunch break. I get an hour, and because I bring in my own lunch and we don't have a canteen, I often spend it just sat at my desk or work through it, so having something to read gave my mind a bit of a rest.
Hair Flower, H&M, £2.99
Sometimes 'workwear' can be quite dull, but bright accessories are great for jazzing up a less-exciting outfit. I'm a huge fan of hair accessories, and the brightness of this flower is perfect for spring. It's a cheap way to brighten up your work wardrobe without shelling out on a whole new outfit!
Cupcake, Hummingbird Bakery, £2.50
I find Thursdays can be a bit of an odd day - so close to the weekend, but still not there yet! To keep myself going, I indulged a bit in a sweet treat. £2.50 for a cupcake is a little on the pricey side for me, but the odd treat now and again doesn't break the bank, and it was totally worth it - the best cupcake I've ever had!
Barry M Nail Paint in Coral, £2.99, Superdrug
The end of the week! If you're going out for drinks straight after work, painting your nails a bright colour is an easy way to get ready for the weekend. It also matches the flower I bought earlier - result!
So, how much did I spend?
Mug - £6
Magazine - £2.50
Flower - £2.99
Cupcake - £2.50
Nail Polish - £2.99
= £16.98, meaning I had enough left over for a £3 post-work glass of wine afterwards!
Although I'm by no means advocating shopping on every lunch break (I could certainly never afford it!), this challenge has proved that treating yourself to a much needed pick-me-up once a while doesn't have to cost the earth, sometimes the smallest things can brighten up a dull day!

What would you do if you found a surprise note in your pocket?

I would love to find £20 in my pocket! Although, it probably wouldn't go on treats, just be spent on Aiden, or other necessities! I like your idea I making it last a week - a wee treat is certainly a nice pick me up when the week is dragging! That mug is so cute too! Xo
