Samy Fat Hair Amplifying Hair Spray, £3.25 (full size), Superdrug (pictured: travel size)
Recently I've been trying to do something a bit different with my hair - whilst previously I've always gone for the poker-straight, sleek look, I've been giving the 'undone' look a go.
I picked up this Fat Hair Amplifying Hair Spray on a whim - probably because I thought the packaging was eye catching and bold. I like the '0 calories' slogan too! I quite like the smell of the product - although it has a scent that's definitely a 'hairspray' one, it doesn't smell synthetic or chemically.
In the beginning, I wasn't quite sure whether it was meant to be used like a normal hairspray, but I found a way of using it that works for me is to tip my head upside down and blast a fine mist evenly over my hair, then flipping it back up and tousling/tidying it a bit for the 'big hair' look. A bit of backcombing would also work really well with it.
I found that the spray did hold my style pretty well - not for the whole night, but the travel size can's small enough to pop in your bag in case you need a perk up, and ruffling my hair up a bit in the middle of the evening helped too. Although I don't know if it really has a huge amount of extra benefits above normal hair spray, at the price it's definitely a good buy and helped me achieve bigger, 'messy but still styled' looking hair.
What would you recommend for giving hair that extra oomph?

I'm definitely with you on the packaging, I probably would have picked this up for that reason too!
ReplyDeleteI love BackComb In A Bottle, it smells like a dream and definitely feels different to a hairspray. The Batiste XXL Volume dry shmampoo is fantastic for volume if you don't want the hairspray feeling, too, and I have a review on it here if you want more info :)
