This dress (excuse the stains - it was a messy one...) was from my Graduation Ball in 2011, I bought it from H&M as I liked the whole 'Grecian' feel, what with the rope strap and floaty skirt part. The shoes were a Graduation present from my parents, from Kurt Geiger (although they're actually 'Miss KG', not 'proper' Kurts!), and the flower I'd had for ages, just thought it would fit in with the outfit well!
The Grad Ball theme was 'The Circus', and thanks to my post-Uni job working in the Union, I actually got to go for free, and attended a VIP Reception before the actual event, involving champagne. Cue much handshaking with all the important University people, and attempting to hide the fact I'd already had quite a bit to drink and making polite conversation about how excited I was for the upcoming year. Really, I was just excited about my friends arriving later!
I spent the majority of my evening in a tent with all my favourite people I'd met at Uni, in the Silent Disco, which had some Radio 1 DJs that I can't quite recall doing sets - Huw Stevens rings a bell though. Originally, the Union had booked Kelis (lol!) to play, but she pulled out at the last minute, so the main room had Zane Lowe doing a DJ set. Which I missed...in fact, I barely even made it upstairs into the venue. The Silent Disco was just too much fun! I believe at one point I was sat on the grass outside, as my dress had grass stains on the next day. Ooops!
Midget chums! // With my awesome friend Hana
The whole night was a pretty major thing for me, as it involved properly saying goodbye to life as a student (although working at the SU pretty much gave me another year of acting like it!), and us all moving on into the grown up world. I had the best three years as a student that I could possibly have asked for, and met the most amazing people. I'll likely never wear this dress again, unless I can get out the grass/drink/too long in storage stains, but I could never bring myself to throw it out because of the memories of when I wore it!
I'll hopefully be bringing you some more of these, in the meantime, what did you wear to your Grad Ball/school or college prom? Do you have outfits with memories attached to them?

I love this outfit, you looked gorgeous in it :) You commented on my blog back in August and I never replied... I'm so sorry! I've just replied to your comment and promise it won't ever take me that long to reply again. Here is the link to the post you commented on, hope your job is still going well!
