MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - Shade: Light Plus, £21

I'm notoriously late to the party with a lot of 'blogger favourite' things, and MAC has been one of those things. I've had the Fluidline eyeliner before, and after some good reviews I picked up the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural and I have to say it - this is one of my favourite make-up purchases ever! MAC are usually a bit pricey for my budget, but I decided to treat myself to it with some of my Christmas money. Best. Decision. Ever.

As well as MAC's normal Skinfinish powders, which aren't all best suited to all-over coverage, they also do the 'Natural' range, to provide light coverage and set foundation. Most liquid foundations have a tendency to look shiny on me, and I prefer a more natural matte finish, which this powder creates perfectly. Applied with a kabuki brush (at the moment I'm using an unbranded one, although I'm looking to invest in a new one soon!) as a finishing touch to my base, it helps give a flawless look and a glow to my complexion, and it isn't cakey or obvious looking.

Finely milled, it blends really easily, and doesn't feel heavy or drying on the skin. It also works really well on reducing the appearance of my larger pores around my nose. And, I find the shade absolutely perfect for my skintone, which is something I've struggled with quite a bit in the past when it comes to base products.

It is a little pretty pricey for a powder I know, but it'll last me ages and it's something I now use on a daily basis, and it really does make my skin look and feel amazing!

What's your favourite powder?

  2. I bought this a couple of years ago and loved it, never repurchased it as I tried lots of other products but now I am going to go back to it because you know it is one of the best :)

  3. I've been trying to decide if I want to try this or not for ages now, as it's got such a good reputation, but in all honesty I'm not really a powder girl, preferring a dewy finish. I'm tempted though, because I'm thinking it might be one of those things where you don't know what you're missing unless you try it, as so many people seem to love it. So unsure!

  5. ooo this sounds brilliant! I really want to add some more MAC to my collection, I have a couple of lipsticks and eyeshadows and I really love them :) Need to save up some of my pennies first though! I swear by max factor creme puff powder, I've been using it for about 5 years and just never like anything else as much.
