Britney Spears - Midnight Fantasy

Saturday, 12 January 2013

'Celebrity perfumes', for me, are a bit of an interesting concept, and it seems to be something every celeb is trying their hand at, from Lady Gaga and Madonna to Amy Childs and er...Cliff Richard (Yep. Apparently it's a 'wonderful scent for mature women'...). They're definitely big business, but what sorts the A-List from the Z-list in terms of scent?

With an impressive ten perfumes under her belt, Britney Spears is one of the leading names in the celebrity fragrance world, with her original scent Curious, released with Elizabeth Arden, a worldwide best-seller. As I'd previously owned and liked Curious, I couldn't resist picking up this one when I saw it half price in Boots (thanks for the Advantage Card points Mum!!). And I have to say, I like it even more.

The purple bottle is really cute, and definitely supports the 'midnight' name of the perfume. The scent itself is sweet without being too sickly - a mix of floral and berries, with a slight musky edge that gives it a hint of sultriness. For the price, I was really impressed with the wear time though - I put it on before I headed out to work the other day and got told at lunchtime that I smelt nice - result! (I also managed to spray myself in the face with it later that evening. It definitely doesn't taste as good as it smells...). It is, however, very strong when you first spray it, so definitely go sparingly if you're wearing it, particularly in the daytime.

Boots' website doesn't seem to list it as half price, which is a shame, but you can get a gift set featuring the 30ml bottle + body souffle and shower gel for £14.99 from Superdrug, which is actually £1 less at the moment than just the bottle by itself!

What are your favourite celebrity fragrances? Have you tried any of Britney's?

Also, have a bit of my favourite Britney tune. You're welcome.

  1. I have both the Curious perfume and Midnight and just like you I think I like Midnight even more! Everyone comments on how well I smell and I love the sweet sticky scent. They last a really long time and are super cheap for everyday use compared to Chanel. I think I'm gonna do my own review - I forgot how much I love them! ;)

  3. I had the pink version of this bottle a few years ago and whenever I wore it to college I used to get so many compliments about smelling nice (always a bonus ha :P), think I might have to pick one up again!

  4. I've owned a bottle of this for years! I wore it when I saw the Twilight movie, so now I associate it with the franchise. (That might be why I don't wear it too often despite how good it smells!)

    1. Haha, that's probably quite an annoying association! x
